It began with an audition...

A filler story for Superboy featuring three strange teenagers from the future. But reader response wouldn't let it end there. Almost two years later, the Legion of Super-Heroes finally reappeared, embedding itself in the Superman family of titles. Jimmy Olsen, Supergirl, even Superman himself -- all would become prone to Legion appearances in their adventures. Editor Mort Weisinger knew a good thing when he saw it, and the Legion of Super-Heroes turned out to be exactly that. Taking over the lead in Adventure Comics with number 300, The Legion went on to star in 81 consecutive issues before being replaced with Supergirl in number 381. From there they appeared in Action Comics, but it was in Adventure where the Legion began, and in Adventure where it made its mark.

Contained within these pages is a chronicle of the earliest years of the Legion of Super-Heroes, beginning with Adventure number 247 and ending with Action Comics number 392. They include the Silver Age appearances of the Legion of Super-Heroes, including their appearances in Superboy, Jimmy Olsen, and other Superman family titles during the 1960s. If you are unfamiliar with this period of Legion history, welcome. If you're a longtime Legion fan, welcome back. Without further ado, let's climb aboard the time bubble and journey to the 30th Century, where a group of teenagers will show us that age is no barrier to making a difference. And least we forget...

Long Live The Legion!
