The Legion of Super-Heroes
Imra Ardeen - Titan

While travelling to Earth to join the Science Police, Saturn Girl overheard the thoughts of two men who were planning to kill R.J. Brande. Upon alerting her fellow passengers to the danger, two of them (Garth Ranzz of Winath and Rokk Krinn of Braal) disarmed the assassins, thus spoiling the attempt. So impressed was Brande that he decided to fund an organization for the three teens, calling it The Legion of Super-Heroes.

Garth Ranzz - Winath

While travelling to Earth in search of his missing brother (Lightning Lord), Lightning Lad was a passenger on the flight during which Saturn Girl discovered the plot to kill R.J. Brande. Using his ability to generate lightning, he disarmed one of the two assassins. He is a founding member of the Legion of Super-Heroes, and the twin brother of fellow Legionnaire, Light Lass.

Rokk Krinn - Braal

While travelling to Earth in search of work, Cosmic Boy was a passenger on the flight during which Saturn Girl discovered the plot to kill R.J. Brande. Using his ability to magnetically control all metal objects, he disarmed one of the two assassins. Cosmic Boy was the first leader of the Legion of Super-Heroes, and currently dates Night Girl of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Reep Daggle - Durla

Chameleon Boy has the ability to change his shape to mimic that of any form. Tired of the backward ways of his home planet, he decided to emmigrate to Earth, where he heard of the Legion of Super-Heroes. Deciding that his power would be of great use in such an organization, he applied and was accepted as a member.

Gim Allon - Earth

While attending the Science Police academy on Mars, Colossal Boy was present when a strange meteor crashed to its surface. The radiation from the meteor gave him the ability to grow to great heights. Finding such a power put him at a disadvantage in the SP, he applied to the Legion, and was accepted immeadiately.

Lyle Norg - Earth

A native of Metropolis on Earth, Invisible Kid is a scientist who designed a serum which gives him super-invisibility. Next to Brainiac 5, he is the Legion's chief scientist.

Kal-El - Krypton

Rocketed to Earth as an infant to escape the explosion of Krypton, Superboy gained super-powers upon arriving on Earth. Although he appeared unsuccessful in his first attempt to join the Legion, the organization was just testing his character under such circumstances and immeadiately voted him in.

Thom Kallor - Xanthu

Star Boy gained powers similar to Superboy's after passing through the tail of a comet in his family's spacemobile. Although those powers faded with time, he retained his ability of birth to make objects super-heavy.

Luornu Durgo - Cargg

Like all native Carggians, as Triplicate Girl Duo Damsel had the ability to divide herself into three equal selves. However, she lost one of her bodies in a battle with Computo. She has since remained in the Legion as Duo Damsel.

Tinya Wazzo - Bgytzl

Phantom Girl hails from the other dimensional world of Bgytzl, which exists in the same space as Earth, only in another dimension. Like all Bgytzlians, she is able to walk through all forms of matter. When she heard of the Legion, she decided to join, and is currently the girlfriend of Legionnaire Ultra Boy.

Salu Digby - Imsk

Like all citizens of the planet Imsk, Shrinking Violet has the ability to shrink to microscopic sizes. She also has a personality which matches her name.

Dirk Morgana - Earth

Sun Boy gained his powers while locked in an atomic reactor by the evil Dr. Regulus. A native of Metropolis, when he heard about the Legion, he decided to join.

Chuck Taine - Earth

Bouncing Boy gained his powers when he accidentally drank from a serum of super-plastic fluid. Although originally rejected by the Legion, he demonstrated his power's effectiveness against an electrical foe, after which he was voted in.

Kara Zor-El - Krypton

Supergirl is from the Kryptonian city of Argo City, which survived the destruction of Krypton. When a barrage of meteors threatened Argo City's existence, she was sent to Earth in a rocketship, much like her cousin Kal-El before her. Upon arriving on Earth she developed the abilities which all Kryptonians gain under Earth's yellow sun. Unsuccessful in her first attempt to join the Legion, she reapplied (and succeeded) one year later.

Querl Dox - Colu

Brainiac 5 has a 12th level intelligence, which is twice that of an ordinary human. He is the fifth in the line of Brainiacs, dating back to the 20th Century super-villain. He joined the Legion at the same time as Supergirl, and wears a force-field belt of his own invention.

Jo Nah - Rimbor

While traveling through space, Ultra Boy's cruiser was swallowed by an energy beast. Although he was soon freed by the Galactic Patrol, the beast's strange energies gave him ultra powers, of which he can use only one at a time. His initiation test into the Legion involved his discovery of Superboy's real identity.

Lar Gand - Daxam

When astronaut Lar Gand crashlanded on Earth, his powers and abilities led Superboy to believe that he was from the planet Krypton. Suffering from amenesia, Kryptonian artifacts found on his person caused Superboy to think that he and Mon-El were brothers. When Superboy discovered the truth, it was too late since Mon-El had already been exposed to lead, which is deadly to Daxamites. To save his life, Mon-El was placed in the Phantom Zone, where he waited for a thousand years for a cure. When Brainiac 5 finally developed a serum which would allow him to leave the Phantom Zone for more than a few minutes at a time, he joined the Legion full-time.

Tenzil Kem - Bismol

Like all natives of Bismol, Matter-Eater Lad possess the ability to eat matter in all forms. This power was developed over generations on his home planet after microbes invaded all organic matter, forcing its inhabitants to ingest non-organic matter. Matter-Eater Lad is a much welcome source of humor in the Legion.

Jan Arrah - Trom

Element Lad is the last surviving native of Trom, a planet on which all inhabitants possessed the ability to change the chemical composition of all matter. When the Trommites refused to give in to the demands of the space-pirate Roxxas, he killed all the inhabitants of the planet, save one. Joining the Legion in secret, Element Lad was able to bring Roxxas to justice.

Alya Ranzz - Winath

Lightning Lad's twin sister joined the Legion during the period in which her brother was believed to be dead. She assumed his identity, but was later forced to leave the Legion, due to the rule which prohibits Legionnaires from possessing duplicate powers. With the help of Dream Girl, she changed her powers to the ability to make objects super-light, and remained with the Legion as Light Lass.

Nura Nal - Naltor

Dream Girl possesses the ability to see into the future, although she cannot predict when her visions will appear. She is also a super-scientist, having changed Light Lass's powers from super-lightning to super-lightness. Her mother was the High-Seer of Naltor, which is that planet's ruler.

Val Armorr - Earth

Karate Kid possess a super-human mastery of the martial arts, developed over years of disciplined training. He joined the Legion during the first Khundian invasion of Earth.

Projectra - Orando

Princess Projectra comes from a medieval society which is a throwback to the culture of ancient Earth. She left her home planet in an attempt to better understand the galaxy around her, and joined the Legion during the first Khundian invasion of Earth.

Tasmia Mallor - Talok VIII

The latest in a long line of planetary defenders, Shadow Lass's powers are genetic, passed down from one generation of Mallors to another. She joined the Legion during the Fatal Five's attempt to control her home planet.

Brin Londo - Zoon

Originally believed to be an android, Timber Wolf was the first graduate of the Legion Academy to join the Legion, along with Chemical King. Both Legionnaries joined the Legion in the undercover operation to infiltrate the Academy of the Legion of Super-Villains.

Condo Arlik - Phlon

Born a mutant with the ability to both speed up or slow down chemical processes, Chemical King was the first member of the Legion Academy to join the Legion, along with Timber Wolf. Both Legionnaries joined the Legion in the undercover operation to infiltrate the Academy of the Legion of Super-Villains.

Brek Bannin - Tharr

Polar Boy comes from a world which has an irregular orbit, so its inhabitants developed the ability to project super-cold at those times when it is too close to its sun. Rejected from the Legion for lack of control, he is a founding member (and current leader) of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Super-Power: Lowers temperature

Lydda Jath - Kathoon

Impressed with the Legion of Super-Heroes, and having developed a crush on its leader, Cosmic Boy, Night Girl asked her scientist father to develop a super-power for her so that she could join. Using a special ray, he gave her super-strength, but it only worked under the cover of darkness. Since Kathoon is a perpetually dark world, she did not notice this deficiency until she arrived on Earth. Dejected, she joined the Legion of Substitute Heroes, where she became a founding member.

Dag Wentim - Zwen

Stone Boy comes from the planet Zwen, where the inhabitants evolved the ability to turn themselves into stone due to the planet's extremely long nights. While in stone form, Stone Boy may remain aware, but he is immobile. He is a founding member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Stag Mavlen - Shwar

Fire Lad developed the ability to breath flames after he inhaled the vapors from a meteor which crashed beside him. Unable to effectively control his abilities in Earth's oxygen-rich atmosphere, he was rejected by the Legion of Super-Heroes. He is a founding member of the Subs.

Ral Benem - Mardru

As a youth, Chlorophyll Kid fell into a vat of hydroponic solution which gave him the ability to affect the growth of plants. Rejected by the Legion, he is a founding member of the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Ulu Vakk - Lupra

While working in a lab, Color Kid was hit by a beam of multi-colored light from another dimension which gave him the ability to change the color of any object. Rejected by the Legion, he joined the Legion of Substitute Heroes.

Gnill Opral - Hajor

Due to his parent's exposure to radiation while on a space mission, Kid Psycho was born with an oversized brain and the ability to project mental force-fields. Rejected by the Legion due to the fact that he loses one year of his life every time he uses his power, he became the Legion's Secret Weapon No. 1, to be used only in the event of a dire emergency.

Rond Vidar - Earth

The son of Legion villain Universo, Rond is immune to his father's hypnotism and assisted the Legionnaires in the defeat of his father. He also built the time cube, the precursor of the time bubble. He is a member of the Legion Reserve.

Lana Lang - Earth

As reward for helping an alien in distress, Insect Queen was given a biogenetic ring which allowed her to assume different insect forms. The only limitation on her powers is that each form can only be chosen once every twenty-four hours. Since her abilities come from a device and are not natural, she is a member of the Legion Reserve.

Jimmy Olsen - Earth

A cub reporter and photographer for the Daily Planet in the 20th Century, Elastic Lad aquires his powers whenever he swallows a special serum invented by Professor Potter. As Superman's Pal, he was made an honorary member of the Legion.

Pete Ross - Earth

While on a camping trip with Clark (Superboy) Kent, Pete Ross accidentally discovered Superboy's secret identity. For his decision to keep that identity a secret, and to covetly help Superboy maintain his secret identity (unbeknownst to Superboy) the Legion of Super-Heroes made him an honorary member.

Andrew Nolan - Earth

The son of a famous actress, Ferro Lad was born hideously disfigured and was hidden from the public by his parents. During the first Khundian invasion of Earth he snuck out of his parent's home and joined the Legion, unbeknownst to them. He died later on while saving the galaxy from the menace of the Sun-Eater.

A native of the planet Antares, Proty was a simple creature, and was associated with the Legion through Chameleon Boy. Not actually a member, Proty gave his life to revitalize the body of Lightning Lad.

Krypto - Krypton

Superboy's pet on Krypton, Krypto was an early test subject for Superboy's father, Jor-El. When his rocket was knocked off course by a meteor, Krypto wandered in space for years until he was accidentally discovered by Superboy. He is a founding member of the Legion of Super-Pets.

Comet - Earth

Originally a centaur from ancient Greece, Comet was accidentally changed into a full horse by the sorceress Circe in an attempt to make him human. As recompense, she was able to alter the spell enough so that he would turn into a man whenever there was a comet in the sky. He is a founding member of the Legion of Super-Pets.

Super-Power: Flight

Streaky - Earth

In an attempt to devise a cure for Kryptonite, Supergirl accidentially created Kryptonite-X, a variant form of Kryptonite which has effects similar to those of Green Kryptonite. Supposedly disposed of, the Kryptionite-X somehow found its way into Streaky's ball of yarn. Whenever he came into contact with it he gained temporary super-powers similar to those of Supergirl. Streaky is a founding member of the Legion of Super-Pets.

Beepo - Krypton

A stowaway on the rocket which brought Superboy to Earth, Beepo is a mischevious monkey, so much so that Superboy had to trick him into going to deep space in order to protect his secret identity. Years later, when he found his way back to Earth, he was rediscovered by Supergirl. Beepo is a founding member of the Legion of Super-Pets.

Proty II - Antares

After the death of the original Proty, Chameleon Boy acquired Proty II as his new pet. While both the Legion and the Substitute Legion were off-planet, Proty II petitioned the Super-Pets for membership. After passing the necessary tests, he was made a full member.
